Basic Rope Rescue

Below you will find the basic knots that as a Firefighter at Simpsonville Fire Department you will need to be proficient. Also you will see our basic haul and lower system. If you have any questions on any of this please ask your Company Officer and we will gladly go over and help you in any way we can so you can feel comfortable with all of this.

Our Basic System

3 Short Prussik, 2 Long Prussik, 4 Small Caribiners, 2 Large Caribiners, 1 Gibbs, 1 Rigging Plate, 1 Rack, 3 Prussik Mining Pulleys, 2 Load Release Systems

Using a single tag line for control. Bowline tied onto each corner of stokes and 1 person to manage the line.
