Deputy Fire Marshal Adam Lezan

Deputy Fire Marshal Adam Lezan began his fire service career as a volunteer with Berea Fire Department in June, 1987 remaining in that position until May, 2004. He also served briefly as a volunteer at Duncan Chapel Fire Department while a student at Furman University.

In July, 2004, Deputy Fire Marshal Lezan made the move to become a career firefighter after twelve years of teaching at Pickens and Wade Hampton High Schools. He began his career at Duncan Chapel Fire Department being promoted to Engineer in August, 2005 and Lieutenant in December, 2006. In November 2007, he was offered the opportunity to move from the firefighting ranks into fire prevention at Simpsonville. Deputy Fire Marshal Lezan is currently responsible for conducting business inspections, assisting in the writing of grants for the department, and assuring that pre-fire information and drawings are up-to-date.

His educational accomplishments include: Certified Fire Marshal, NREMT-B, Firefighter II, IFSAC Fire Instructor I, American Heart Association BLS Instructor, Medical First Responder Instructor, and numerous other Fire Academy certifications. In addition, he has a B.A. and M.A. from Furman University, holds a current SC Secondary Teaching Certificate, and is a licensed contractor through the SC Residential Homebuilder’s Association.

Deputy Fire Marshal Lezan is a current member of the South Carolina Fireman’s Association, the Greenville County Fire Chief’s Association, and the South Carolina Fire Marshal’s Association.
