Fire Marshal Eddie Watson and shift personnel perform Fire & Life Safety Inspections two times a year on all buildings that the public may occupy. The purpose for these inspections are to insure the building occupant follow the fire code regulations set forth in the International Fire Code 2000 Edition. These codes are updated every three years. Also these inspections are used for the fire departments insurance classification, which reflects on homeowners and business insurance rates. All businesses that open in the Simpsonville Fire District are required to be inspected prior to occupying the building.
