The Simpsonville Fire District includes the City limits of Simpsonville as well as the Greenville County area around the City. We currently operate out of four stations strategically located throughout the district which allows an average three minute response to anywhere within the Distinct boundaries. The Fire District is comprised of approximately 30 square miles and protects an estimated 45,000 citizens. When called we provide mutual aid to surrounding departments providing them with manpower and equipment when needed.
The Simpsonville Fire District runs a wide array of calls ranging from medical first response to technical rescues. The department is a mirror of the community we serve as we are ever growing and changing to meet the needs of our citizens and visitors. Simpsonville Fire Department took Delivery of a new rescue truck on August 10, 2009. R-1 is a Pierce Heavy Duty Rescue, Arrow XT, 20" raised roof, Detroit S-60 515 HP Allison Automatic Transmission, Independent Front Suspension, Frontal Airbag Protection, Command Desk, Fire Com Headsets. 23.50' Heavy Duty Rescue Body with Hatch Storage Trays and Shelves. 14' Extension Ladder, 10' Folding Ladder, Six Pike Pole Storage. 35 KW PTO Generator with Auto Transfer Switch, 9000 Watt Wilburt Night Scan Light Tower, Visor Light, Whelen LED Warning Lights, Federal Q2B, Directional Arrow.
This truck went into service in October 2009.
